Private Trade Winds is a Luxury Travel Service focused on helping the luxury traveler and vacation homeowner experience the joys of luxury travel with ease.
Private Trade Winds was created out of the desire to find a balance between the love of luxury vacation home ownership and the love for worldwide travel. Over the last 15 years, my husband and I have travelled extensively around the globe, with and without our children, always admiring the opportunity we were experiencing. Each travel location was unique and wonderful in its own way. Some luxurious, some disappointedly called luxurious. Over the years, on our path to adventure, we have fallen captive to certain destinations and therefore purchased vacation homes just so we could come back and re-live the memories over and over. Although each time "we swore we had found paradise and would never go anywhere else", the allure was eventually overshadowed by the continual need to explore and see the world.
In an effort to find the ideal purchase to accommodate this love of ownership vs. travel, we have purchased every option in the market! From whole ownership vacation homes, fractionals, residence club ownerships and even destination club memberships - all served a positive ownership and vacation experience, yet none were complete on their own. As each property remained unoccupied for most of the year and I became restless from my new found freedom of early retirement, I approached my husband with the concept of renting these luxurious places in hopes of covering at least the mortgage payment. At first, my husband was appalled by the thought. He reminded me that we bought these out of love for our family. He said, "I don't want anyone else sleeping in my bed!" I respectfully responded by saying, "Well have you ever thought about how many people sleep in your bed at Your Favorite Hotel?" He was speechless. "You are right", he said AND considering my 20+ years of property management experience, I got his blessing to begin renting and trading our homes for endless other vacation opportunities.
Now through the eyes of an experienced property manager and a true lover of travel, you can experience the balancing formula to help you maximize the value of your real estate and vacation experience. Over the last five years, we have networked a private group of individuals together who enjoy trading and renting their luxury asset(s) to a select group of people. Today, a growing part of our portfolio also adds developer and resort properties, as well, worldwide. This service is now being made available to you through private and personal invitation. Our service and rental contracts allow you the ability to create flexible options through your vacation ownership while enjoying personalized travel & concierge service to create the most luxurious vacation and travel experience possible.

After years of frustration in trying to find a travel agent to understand all my travel needs, our in-house travel agency was developed to focus on the direct needs of clients, without a concern about commission payments or answering the phone to get a new client. Our philosophy trains our experienced agents to be in direct alignment with our client needs to help them find the right vacation for each trip while saving them money and time through the extra services we provide such as negotiating special inclusions or managing and redeeming frequent flier miles. We accomplish this goal by limiting the number of assigned clients each dedicated agent has and taking out the stress of earning a living through commissions.
